Greetings to all,
The first phase of the Mermaid renovations have begun. The first step is to relocate all of the administrative function to the office in the rear, that was occupied by Orion Health. Once that has been accomplished, we will wall of that area and remove all of the existing interior walls. What this means is that effective immediately, the Mermaid offices are unusable for any program activity including Video Night, Community Lunch, Board meetings, QAC's etc. For those of you who host meetings here for other community groups outside of business hours, please inform your relevant associates.
I am suggesting that Video Night be suspended or hosted at Medusa. Another possibility is to use the Inlet Centre, but down grade the meal to snacks that do not require cooking. Perhaps the Marine Room can host Community Lunch or again Medusa could be an alternative. To reiterate, these are merely suggestions and I am open to whatever improvisations people can create. The builders estimate that completion is: a) 2 months if all goes well or: b) 3 months if we run into as yet unforeseen difficulties. Therefore it is important that all involved rely heavily on "over communicating" with each other as we are bound only by adaptation with respect to a venue that we use so frequently.
I hope that those of you that are interested in the renovation will contact me with any ideas that you may like included in the new facility. Although I can make no guarantee, I will certainly give any suggestions careful consideration.
Again I thank all of you for your patience and understanding. Please forward this message to any other parties that you can think of, that might be effected by this change in venue and schedule.
