A POEM FOR KEVIN
By Michael Oswald

A smile on your face
There never was a day
When you didn’t laugh
You brought my spirits high
But now I only cry
I am so sad

Though I can be glad
That I knew you

I feel your spirit here
You are not really gone
I see your twinkling eyes

In the sunshine
And the moonlight
I see you
And I smile

Kevin, brother, buddy, pal, you were a friend to me

You may be on the other side
But the tide still ebbs
Time still flows
And I feel woe

But I will take the other road
I will try to laugh like you
To smile like you
And be a friend like you
I am a better human being

Because I knew you...

Kevin Norman, This prayer I send for you....
"Lord, when you see an angel at your gates, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, let him in to your grace."

From the painfully shy athlete you were at your first track meet in Richmond where you hid behind me most the the meet to the young man that knew his way around Mineru Park at the last meet we went to  One of my greatest pleasures as a coach was to watch your confidence and your skills grow as well as your smile.  Kevin I will miss being your coach and your friend.

You will be missed
Kevin was the perfect exemplar of how a person can truly live with Joy, happiness, simplicity, and best of all giving of his friendship to all those around him. Kevin was a team member on the Sechelt SO Soccer team 2010, and he always showed up with a smile, a kind word to others, and most admirable Kevin gave unconditionally to all those in his presence. I had the honor to get to know a man Kevin Norman that lived with purpose, integrity and lived to the fullest of sharing Joy. I miss your funny sense of humor each soccer meet in our opening circle time Kevin. Thank you for sharing all of your love and joy with each and every person you connected with.

Kevin touched many lives -including mine. I was sad to hear the news. He was always friendly and welcoming -and will be missed by so many friends and loved ones.

Thanks for hosting this page - I hadn't seen Kevin in a number of years, but I think his presence during elementary and high school is responsible for a big part of my growth as a person.

I learned a lot from Kevin; he was always happy to see me, and always said hi. He was generous. I hope he thought the same of me.

I remember Kevin so well from the days I had the Coffee Nook next door to 'Bottle Me' on Inlet.  Not a day passed that he didn't pop his head in with a smiling hello.
He'll be missed

Kevin had a bright huge smile that lit up life.  His positive spirit brought joy. We always looked forward to Kevin's time at Gibsons Recycling Depot collecting bottles for the Bottle me program.  he was a special person because he gave love and kindness to  thhe world.

It was my great pleasure to interact with Kevin while he was a student at Elphinstone, and when I bumped into him in the community. Whether at the thrift stores, the pool, or at the mall, he was always a source of friendliness and joy, and I was greatly saddened to hear of his passing. I will remember him and miss him. My condolences to his family and close friends.

My friend Kevin
I met Kevin when I became his soccer coach in 2005. That year we went to our first tournament with a team of only 7 players – so that meant everyone got a lot of time on the field. Kevin was great – and even though he had both sun-burn and blisters, he gave us everything he had!  Kevin will remain in my heart. I have lots of fond memories that I will cherish.

What a smile!!!  Always greeted me at SCACL with a huge "Hi" and had something interesting to say.  You ran like a roadrunner and that bounce in your walk was always there.  I know I will miss your excuses for forgetting just about everything or loosing things.  Run like the wind Kevin....

Missing Kevin
I didn't know Keving all that well, only through my occasional visits to the SCACL office, but anytime we'd have a chance to say hello he would always brighten my day. I'm sad to think that I won't have that opportunity any more.
